Welcome to the CostOfService.com  website ("Site") which is the public service and education function of the National Independent Service Company and Technicians Association (NISC-T). Site is a member of several accredited on-line news organizations and claims the protections of the 1st Amendement.

Some of the opinion and commentary may be unflattering to some manufacturers, dealers or even some trade associations. Some of the news may contradict the advertising they pay big bucks for to sell their product. If the manufacturers should know who we are - they would cancel us and/or sue us into destitution. The same as any who would contribute to this site with news, facts, commentary, satire, data, etc. So most contribute under "The Grump". Therefore we endeavour to keep contributors unknown and unidentifiable to anyone who may want to get even with a contributor. Any personal attacks that name names, will be deleted. Unflattering information is allowed. So is flattering. But if you call someone a crook, and you name a name...it will vanish. Same for political topics (unless it is about your company or trade organization), religious topics or current events that have nothing to do with the electronics and appliance industry.

While posting anything on this site will be limited to individuals in the electronics and appliance manufacturing, sales, service & supply industries, the information is available to the public. Most industry trade organizations are not-for-profit and therefore may not publish anything that may befoul them of the American's Sherman Antitrust Act and be accused of price fixing, collusion, etc. Since this is a "news and information" website - available to the public to view - we be good. Talk about crappy rates all you want. Or great rates if that be true. If you lie - poof, your "news" will also vanish. We KNOW that no manufacturer pays $2 a mile for travel or $600 to fix an LCD flat panel under warranty. Ok?

Materials on the Site are owned, for the most part, by Site. The Site may also include materials owned by third parties and posted on the Site by virtue of a license, grant or some other form of agreement between the third party and Site. Also, Site will have commentary and opinions which we are not nor ever will be responsible for. Especially if it is the truth.
